Going on a skiing vacation requires adequate preparation to make the most of this winter experience. Whether you're an avid skier or just discovering the pleasures of the snow-covered mountains, here's a list of essential items to pack for a successful vacation on the slopes. It's just like going to summer camp!
1. Ski clothing :
- Waterproof and breathable ski jackets and pants - a plethora of offerings on Vinted, these really are the clothes to buy second-hand - worn once a year...
- Thermal underwear to keep your body warm and dry, these from Uniqlo are good basics.
- Socks: choose technical socks to wick away moisture and keep your feet warm, rather than 2 bad pairs one on top of the other. There's nothing more unpleasant than cold feet!
- A hood Fudoon: to protect your neck, throat and chest from the cold and wind. A ray of sunshine in a high-altitude restaurant? Remove your Fudoon in a flash!
2. Protective accessories :
- Ski helmet to protect your head in the event of a fall: rent with your equipment for a few extra euros, it's a lifesaver and keeps you warm.
- Ski goggles or masks to protect your eyes from the sun, snow and wind are a must.
- Waterproof, insulated gloves or mittens to keep your hands warm and dry.
3. Skin & face care :
- High factor sun cream (50+) to protect your skin from UV rays reflected by the snow and to avoid returning to the office with a face that's half white and half red. Remember to reapply every 2 hours.
- Moisturizing lip balm to prevent chapping caused by cold and wind.
- Moisturizing face and body cream to counter the drying effects of cold air. Don't forget to moisturize your hands!
5. Casual wear :
- Comfortable outfits for relaxing after a day on the slopes: leggings or jogging suits, whichever you prefer!
- Warm, comfortable slippers for relaxing after a busy day. We love the softly furred versions.
6. Other useful articles:
- Cachecoon : this neck warmer Fudoon will keep you warm and soft against your skin with its fleece interior, and you can pull it up to your (beautiful) eyes to cover your face from the wind and cold.
- A swimsuit: resorts often have thermal baths or swimming pools, so you never know...
- Lightweight, flexible backpack for carrying your essentials on the slopes.
- Thermos flask or water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Don't forget to check the resort's weather conditions before you leave and adjust your equipment accordingly. Go to bed early, stay hydrated, enjoy yourself safely.
Happy skiing! 🎿❄️
